內容簡介: 博客來網路書店Transforming History examines the profound transformation of historical thought and practice of writing history from the late Qing through the mid-twentieth century. The authors devote extensive analysis to the common set of intellectual and political forces that shaped the study of history, from the ideas of evolution, positivism, nationalism, historicism, and Marxism, to political processes such as revolution, imperialism, and modernization. Also discussed are the impact and problems associated with the nation-state as the subject of history, the linear model of historical time, and the spatial system of nation-states. The result is a convincing study that illustrates how history has transformed into a modern academic discipline in China.

Brian Moloughney is Pro-Vice-Chancellor Humanit博客來網路書局ies at the University of Otago. His research includes work on Chinese history and literature and the Chinese diaspora.

Peter Zarrow is currently Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica, Taipei. His research focuses on the thought and culture of twentieth-century China.

經過蘇迪勒颱風一天一夜的肆虐之後，台北市街頭狼藉處處可見。但就在龍江路、南京東路口附近，兩座紅色和綠色郵筒，突然大批人潮聚集，大家排隊前來拍照，甚至大玩Kuso遊戲。這是怎麼一回事？

原來，兩座郵筒被颱風吹歪了頭，而且歪的樣子很「萌」，被戲稱為「歪頭小紅小綠」。這幕街頭奇景，透過臉書傳遞迅速走紅，大家紛紛前來打卡，大批媒體記者聞風而至。連前來維持秩序的郵差也應觀眾要求，大玩Kuso秀。現場歡笑不斷，宛如一場街頭嘉年華。

這就是台灣：雖然被颱風搞得七葷八素，人們還是找機會苦中作樂。台北市政府應該好好「保存」這對給市民帶來歡笑的「歪頭小紅小綠」，起碼可以帶動周邊商機，甚至有助於國際宣傳。畢竟這麼萌的風災景象，可不是每個國家都有的。
